Viola Davis had a very big Sunday night, winning the Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance as Rose Maxson in Fences.
Her Oscar win makes her the first black woman in history to win a Tony, Emmy and an Oscar. Just add her to the list of national treasures, right next to Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Not only did she get the honor she deserved from the Academy, she then moved everyone to tears with an incredible acceptance speech, expressing how thankful she was that she became an artist: “because we are the only profession that celebrates what it means to live a life,” she said. Read more…
