Ava DuVernay’s Oscars dress has more meaning behind it than you think

Everyone is watching the 89th Academy Awards, which makes it a prime place for celebrities to represent causes and organizations dear to their hearts. 

Director Ava DuVernay used her red carpet moment to subtly comment on Trump’s travel ban by  highlighting a gown designed by a studio from a majority-Muslim country as an act of solidarity.
