If you are alive in the world today, you have undoubtably heard about last night’s incredible Oscars mix-up, where Moonlight walked away with an unexpected (no, seriously unexpected) Best Picture award.
When Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway incorrectly announced La La Land as the award’s winner, producer Jordan Horowitz was the first of his colleagues to deliver an acceptance speech onstage. He was also the first to realize something was very wrong.
“I’m holding the envelope and the award, and I had just given my speech, and there are people on the stage with headsets, and I thought, ‘That doesn’t seem right,’” Horowitz told The New York Times. Read more…
