Video of very serious lawyers listening to Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’ is hilariously awkward

TwitterFacebook

These very, very serious lawyers are definitely not losing themselves in this music or moment.

Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” was played for this unsmiling group of lawyers as part of a case alleging that New Zealand’s National Party breached copyright with a piece of music used in a 2014 campaign ad.

The case kicked off in Wellington High Court on Monday. Lawyer for the plaintiff Eight Mile Style, Gary Williams, says the party bought the music called “Eminem Esque” from a company called BeatBox, according to NewsHub. The party rejects the allegation. Read more…

Behold Kermit the Frog’s genius artistic interpretation of Solange’s ‘Cranes in the Sky’

TwitterFacebook

Kermit is a frog of many talents. And he can now add interpretive dance to his resume wth his artistic rendition of Solange’s Grammy-award-winning single “Cranes in the Sky“.

In what is perhaps the greatest Twitter thread of all time, Twitter user @jiljilec posted images of Kermit living out the lyrics to the song. In fact, this rendition was so impressive that Solange responded to @jiljilec, stating she was “legit crying”.

The question remains: is Kermit’s interpretation of the song about his breakup with Miss Piggy? It certainly seems to be.   Read more…

Bill Nye uses ice cream to explain the ridiculousness of gay conversion therapy

TwitterFacebook

Not since But I’m a Cheerleader has gay conversion therapy been shown up so hilariously (and deliciously) as the illogical and damaging stain on pseudo psychotherapy that it is.

On Bill Nye Saves the World, everyone’s favourite science guy uses “flavour” to describe a diverse array of sexualities, and the tyrannical attempt to dictate another’s.

In the adorably animated video, “Vanilla” holds a meeting to demand all the other ice creams change their flavour to vanilla too. “As Vanilla, I feel that I am the most natural of the ice creams. And therefore the rest of you should just go ahead and also be vanilla. It’s the one true flavor.” He says. Read more…

‘Wootube’ is the hit YouTube channel that’s making math hella fun again

TwitterFacebook

For the past decade or so, there’s been a decline in the number of mathematics students in high schools in Australia. But one teacher is giving new life to the subject through his thoroughly engaging YouTube tutorials is Eddie Woo, the man behind WooTube.

A teacher at Sydney’s Cherrybrook Technology High School, Woo has more than 40,000 subscribers — not bad for someone whose content is dedicated to explaining concepts like trigonometric equations, inequality proofs, and checksums.

Woo, who will feature on ABC documentary television series Australian Story, explained how he gained a passion for teaching mathematics in university, where he was studying to become a teacher. Read more…

Just a terrifyingly large snake dragging a dead bearded dragon across the road

TwitterFacebook

http://ift.tt/1ogD5d5

In Australia, they don’t say “dragging a dead deer up a hill.”

Instead, the saying goes, “dragging a dead bearded dragon up a dirt track and also being a huge-arse brown snake.” Or something like that.

Bourke man, Andrew Hull, caught the venomous, terrifying creature crossing the road with something in its mouth on Saturday, and decided to start filming.

“So I’m driving up the river road from Wilcannia, composing a poem for Ian Marr, heart full of the bush, the autumn sun, and the wide red road, upon which lay a sizeable brown snake eating a bearded dragon,” he said in classic Australian yarn-spinning fashion.  Read more…
