Mom records Animoji of herself coughing uncontrollably and we’re screaming

Parents and technology aren’t always a match made in heaven. But, one mother’s attempt to use Animoji to send a message to her daughter went hilariously wrong when she succumbed to a coughing fit mid-way through the message.

Twitter user’s @nmariesinclair video of her mother’s disastrous-yet-brilliant Animoji fail went viral, gaining more than 6million views, and almost 370,000 likes. 

“Y’all. my momma was trynna send my sister an animoji and this is what happened. I died,” she wrote on Twitter. 

ICYMI, the iPhone X allows users to transform their 10 second audio messages into animated emoji, which mimic their facial expressions and head turns.  Read more…

Smartphones with removable batteries are never coming back

Apple rarely apologizes when it messes up. But when it does, it’s usually followed by even more fervor and upset users.

Case in point: Apple finally admitted it did a poor job communicating to its customers about how and why it slowed down iPhones with older batteries.

And while most people will forgive the company and accept its two forthcoming solutions (a $29 battery replacement for applicable iPhones and a future software update that’ll better explain your device’s battery health), there’s an equal amount of people who are now slamming the company for not doing even more for its users, like designing iPhones with removable batteries. Ed Sheeran, king of angsty love songs, absolutely crushes cover of Eric Clapton’s ‘Layla’

There’s no song on earth that better captures the agony of unrequited love than Eric Clapton’s “Layla”. 

And, Ed Sheeran—king of angsty songs about love—is the only person on earth equipped to cover it. 

The 1971 song was written about Clapton’s then-unrequited love for his friend’s wife, Pattie Boyd. Oh, and his friend just so happened to be George Harrison, lead guitarist of The Beatles. TL;DR Clapton later married Boyd.

Dave Chappelle is widely considered to be a comedic genius. So when Netflix announced it had released two Chappelle stand-up specials, people freaked. A little comedy to wrap up this bitter year has to be a good thing, right?

Well, maybe. But maybe not. The specials just dropped, but there’s already some pushback when it comes to Chappelle’s thoughts on the transgender community.

Trump’s NYE bash has a ‘modern fantasy garden’ theme. We have some better suggestions.

President Donald Trump is often accused of living in his own personal fantasy world where white supremacists are “very fine people” and New Jersey muslims celebrated the 9/11 attack. So it is perhaps fitting that his New Year’s Eve celebration at Mar-a-Largo has, according to The Washington Post, a “modern fantasy garden” theme.

And while we’re excited to see what mythical bullshit takes root in such a gathering of sycophants and enablers, we also can’t help but note that Team Trump passed up a wonderful opportunity to explore other themes perhaps more germane to the 45th presidency of these great United States.  Read more…
