Gadot revealed in a candid conversation on The Hollywood Reporter‘s “Awards Chatter” podcast that she lost a lot of roles over the years simply because she wasn’t famous enough for producers to think she’d carry the film — including Mad Max: Fury Road. A Wonder Woman later, and now she’s one of the biggest names around.
“I had so many almosts for big, great things, but I was never big enough of a name,” Gadot said on the podcast. “They always need someone…It was always me and ‘the big name.’”
