Actor Zachary Quinto perfectly captured why Kevin Spacey‘s controversially timed decision to come out as gay was so problematic.
After a Buzzfeed News report revealed Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp alleged that Spacey made sexual advances on him when he was just 14 years old, Spacey released a statement apologizing and announcing that he chooses to “live as a gay man.”
In response, Quinto — who plays Mr. Spock in J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek films and publicly came out as gay in a 2011 New York Magazine profile — shared a post on Monday pointing out that Spacey seemed to be using the moment to “deflect attention from the very serious accusation.” Read more…
