Dashcam footage shows dangerous driver getting a big dose of instant karma

TwitterFacebook

When you’re driving through winding country roads and you can’t see what’s up ahead, overtaking on a corner is never a very good idea.

The dashcam footage above was recorded by British YouTuber Kookoocachu last week. In the clip she’s heading along a country lane when another driver comes belting past, swerves round a tight bend, and comes dangerously close to flipping their car over.

It’s worth having the sound on just for the sweary scolding she gives the guy when she finally catches up with him. Read more…

Twitter is mocking this political graph for a very good reason

TwitterFacebook

Bar graph inaccuracy does not fly on Twitter.

Twitter users were quick to call out the UK’s Tower Hamlets Green Party for this confusing image that they originally posted to their Facebook page.

“Get me the guy who does graphs for the Lib Dems.”

“He says there are limits to what he can…”

“PAY HIM DOUBLE.” http://pic.twitter.com/TuWI1jtxZF

TwitterFacebook

Remember those days of being in school struggling to concentrate in class? Well, a school in France is hoping to tackle those wandering minds by using technology.

ESG Business School in Paris is starting an artificial intelligence program which will identify whether students are paying attention in class.

From September, software called Nestor (like the butler in The Adventures of Tintin comic book) will use students’ webcams to examine eye movements and facial expressions to establish whether they’re actually attentive to a video lecture.  Read more…

TwitterFacebook

If you aren’t on the Pokémon train yet, now you can literally jump on one.

Japan’s JR East railway company has designed a Pikachu-themed train, in collaboration with The Pokémon Company.

The new train is the latest in the Pokémon with You disaster relief project, that was launched to cheer up children hit by the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake. That effort launched an earlier Pokémon train in 2012, but this one is all about the series’ main star.

JR East released [PDF] concept photos of the new train, revealing its rosy cheeks that can rival Pikachu’s own: Read more…

Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner’s latest Twitter exchange may be the sweetest yet

TwitterFacebook

The Mophie fandom grows bigger and bigger by the day.

At this stage it’s pretty much as unstoppable as one of Tyrion’s comebacks, or a sword swung by the Mountain.

On Tuesday, a Sansa Stark fan account posted the following tweet:

they always pick each other http://pic.twitter.com/si5euKryLp

The screengrabs show snapshots from interviews with Williams and Turner. In the first one they’re asked who they think would make the best Queen of Westeros, and in the second they say who they think Ned would be proudest of. Read more…
