Hillary Clinton drops ‘covfefe’ burn on Twitter, but people are kinda over it already

TwitterFacebook

Covfefe come, covfefe go.

Hillary Clinton was the latest person on Twitter to use the word “covfefe,” created by Trump’s slippery fingers. It was mere hours after joking it was a Russian code word at the Code Conference.

We all laughed when “covfefe” happened, but nearly 24 hours on, Clinton’s tweet on Wednesday night seems about as over as rickrolling your friend.

Is “covfefe” and its 15 minutes of fame over and done with yet? Well, Chrissy Teigen thought it was over awhile ago.  Read more…

Tennis legend slammed for comparing LGBTQ activists to ‘the devil’

TwitterFacebook

Despite relentless criticism, Australian tennis great Margaret Court won’t stop in her tirade against LGBTQ people.

Only a week after publicly refusing to fly Qantas because of the airline’s stance on marriage equality, Court was interviewed by Vision Christian Radio, where she further talked about her opposition to giving LGBTQ people the right to marry.

“You know you pray that that there are enough people who can flag this nation down, and say we’re not going the way of other nations, because they’re having so many problems,” she claimed. Read more…

Apple’s answer to the Amazon Echo could be unveiled as early as June

TwitterFacebook

The only thing Apple fans love more than new product rumors is actual new products.

Well hold on to your butts, ’cause it looks like we’re getting both.

The Cupertino-based company has reportedly started manufacturing its Siri-powered speaker aimed at dethroning the likes of the Amazon Echo and Google Home. But wait, there’s more: Apple is moving quickly and may unveil the new device as soon as the June WWDC

Word of the possible reveal comes to us via Bloomberg, which hedges that news with the caveat that even if Apple fans attending WWDC are lucky enough to get a glimpse of the next shiny Apple device to fall from the Pegatron tree, the product won’t likely ship until the fall.  Read more…

TIL that Nintendo Switch is basically indestructible

TwitterFacebook

YouTuber UnlockRiver.com drops expensive tech from great heights, just to see what happens. That’s the whole schtick for this channel. It’s great.

A Nintendo Switch was the latest victim and, astonishingly, it survived a 1000-foot plummet into an asphalt parking lot. The left Joy-Con controller ripped right off and shattered, but the console itself — screen and everything — seems just fine.

Are you going to come across many situations in life where this might happen to you? No, probably not. But if it can withstand that, it can definitely hold up against the trials of everyday fumbles we’ve all been guilty of. Read more…

‘House of Cards’ throws shade at Theresa May for ducking UK debate

TwitterFacebook

UK Prime Minister Theresa May was called out by House of Cards on Twitter after she didn’t appear at a general election debate Wednesday.

Here’s the tweet, which hit a little more than a week before the June 8 election.

@theresa_may They respect you more when you show strength. Or show uphttp://pic.twitter.com/mNXXDKL0xd

— House of Cards (@HouseofCards) May 31, 2017

The Netflix show may be about American politics, but everything is politics these days. (To be fair, it was based on a British mini-series.) The tweet to May called her out with a GIF from the show and quick caption, “They respect you more when you show strength. Or show up.” Read more…

Even for LeBron James, ‘Being black in America is … it’s tough’

TwitterFacebook

You can be LeBron James. You can be an all-time great at your profession, and a man idolized by millions. You can be a role model and a gentlemen and a champion and a millionaire many, many times over.

But you’re still a black man in America, and that can be tough.

This was illustrated to grotesque effect on Wednesday. A day before James and the Cleveland Cavaliers were set to take on the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals, a racial slur was spray-painted on house James owns in Los Angeles.

Addressing reporters Wednesday afternoon, James appeared somber and clearly affected by the incident police were reportedly investigating as a hate crime. But he also addressed the bigger picture head-on.  Read more…

TwitterFacebook

Now you can easily explore the world’s best museums from your couch.
