Donald Trump’s Treasury may not put Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill after all, because of course it won’t

During the presidential campaign, Donald Trump opposed the idea of Harriet Tubman replacing Andrew Jackson’s portrait on the $20, calling the swap “pure political correctness.” 

Now, perhaps still reeling from the visions of millions of women in the streets the day after his inauguration, the president might be getting his way. 

Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin said Thursday on CNBC that he’s “not focused on” the update of the $20 bill’s portrait, and instead he’s concerned with anti-counterfeiting measures on the currency.  Read more…
