Earlier this month, the University of East Anglia’s student union wanted to motivate students to vote in the school’s annual elections. So they tapped into humankind’s greatest motivator: good and nice dogs.
Last October, the campus was devastated when Cloud Dog, a beloved pup often taken for walks around the grounds, passed away from arthritis complications.
Students quickly became eager to honor the dog, who had brought a particular kind of fluffy joy to stressed-out academics.

So the student union proposed a deal: if 2,000 people voted in the elections, a 10-foot statue of Cloud Dog would be erected on campus. Read more…
